Dawa In Action

I dont claim to be the best Muslimah on the planet but I do claim to try to do the right thing or the Allah ta’ala. One o my biggest problems has been the way that the muslims are isolationists in so far as we dont really mix enough in order to allow the non muslims to see us “in action”.

they know that we sell insense and wear hijaabs but thet dont see us as women doing anything thats really community based.

yesterday I was walking up to the store when I heard an old lady asking or directions. She couldnt see. she was obviously araid so i took this lady to the store.I walked around with her to get her shopping and then I took her home. I helped put her groceries away and I gave her a hug when i left and promised her Id look in on her the next day.

I felt good for doing this.

I told her that God was looking out for her and I meant it.

Im not writing this to say hey look at me..Im wonderful but I wondered how many good deeds do we do for the sake of Allah? how many things do we do just hoping that that small thing will tip our scale on Yaum Ad Deen?

We should all try to look in on our elderly neighbors.If you are young then adopt a granny. Find someone in your  neighborhood who could do with some help. Look in on them from time to time. Remember one day you willl be old too,.

I Dream..

Yea  whats so special about that. we all dream right? Well my dreams are a little bit more special than others.

The prophet said that the only part of prophecy left was in dreams and I believe that.

About a month ago I had a recurrent dream. Both involved a tornado in the city. It was very vivid. I dreamed that it was a thin tornado and that it jumped over buildings. I remmeber that the city was a nondescript city but a city for sure it was.

i woke up yesterday to see that what has been now described as an EF2 tornado ripped through Bayside in Brooklyn.

Thats about 5  blocks from where I work. I got a little spooked out when i remembered my dream but I said to myself hey if this is a gift from Allah then its not a bad thing to have,

Now Im not saying Im psychic(auuthubillah but I do dream and i do have very good intuition about things.

A few years ago I had a vivid dream about a murder being committed outside the door of my friend. The next day she called me up and told me a man was murdered outside her door the night before.

Coincidence or something more?My mom and grandmother says I am a blessed child. They say I was always blessed. I dont know about that..but I do believe that I am more tuned in at times than others and I do fel very very protected.Too  many things have happened to make me believe that. So I was wondering..how Islamic is this thought?
